Hello all! Today I have a gorgeous polish from indie polish maker Sweet & Sour Lacquer!! Sweet & Sour Lacquer is a 5-free, cruelty-free, hand-mixed polish brand and they do a Polish of the Month (POTM) series where they release a unique Limited Edition polish every month. This is March 2017, it’s a gorgeous peachy-coral pink with holographic and gold shimmer running through it! Let’s take a look shall we? And stay tuned for a bonus swatch at the end!!
Starting with some indoor shots, this polish was super vibrant! It was also SUPER opaque – more on that in a bit. All swatch photos are two easy coats plus top coat.
I then took it outside to check it out in the glorious daylight:
True love guys!!!! It’s not pink, it’s not peach, it’s just the right amount of both! And the combination of the holographic AND gold shimmer just really sets it apart from anything else I’ve seen.
I decided to stamp over it:
And then topped it all off with a matte top coat:
I love that satiny look with the matte top coat!
Now remember how I said it was super opaque? Well I figured why not stamp WITH it too?
Amazing!!! It stamped beautifully and you can really pick up on that holo and gold shimmer in the daylight!
| The Details |
Formula: VERY opaque, self-levels easily, great consistency, easy to use.
Wear: I had minimal tip wear after 4 days, which is about the longest I will ever leave a polish on!
Removal: Removes like a regular crème polish.
Brand opinion: Sweet & Sour Lacquer’s customer service is bar none! The owner Darlene is also very involved with her fans and is very open, receptive, and interactive!!
Verdict: Great polish, great brand, love the polish of the month concept!
This mat is a mini version of a lot of the other mats you see out there. It’s approximately 8″ x 5 3/4 ” (21 x 15 cms) which makes it great for travel (the cardboard tube helps with that too!) and for people that paint their nails in small spaces (like me!). Here it is compared to my hand:
It’s also a handy tool for testing out stamping polishes, especially to see how something will look over a dark nail polish base thanks to the black nail templates along the right:
You could also make decals by adding a top coat over your stamps, letting it dry, and then peeling it up and placing it on the nail.
Another great use is testing colour combos before you get them on your nail:
It’s really easy to clean, you can let the polish dry and peel it right off, or use tape to lift it up, or you can use acetone or nail polish remover and just clean it up.
This is definitely a handy tool for anyone who paints nails!!! Head over to http://www.bornprettystore.com and use code JDGK31 for 10% off non-sale items (they have free worldwide shipping too).

You push the little metal plunger at the end and voila!!!
It grabs a cotton ball really securely!
But how will this help you may ask?? Well, now when you’re stamping and have to clean your plate, you don’t have to worry about ruining your nail polish base! Just dip the cotton ball in your remover and swirl around on the plate. Magic!

This is a black holographic nail polish. It’s super opaque, my swatch photos below were one coat (plus top coat). Despite it being a one-coater, it was super easy to use and self-levelled nicely!
Here it is in indoor lighting:
Since it was so opaque, I just had to go ahead and stamp with it!!!
I highly recommend this holo!! As you can see, each bottle is 10 ml and at the time of this posts it retails for 9.99 USD. http://www.bornprettystore.com offers free worldwide shipping and code JDGK31 will give you 10% off any regularly-priced items you have in your cart!!

Hi everybody! I have a crazy exciting blog post today. I was lucky enough to get to play with a bunch of beautiful of pretties from Moonflower Polish, a brand new indie offering 5-free stamping polishes!
Moonflower Polish is the invention of Nadia Velez. She may be new to polish-making but I’m betting you’ve seen her nails around – she’s been an active blogger and swatcher herself for many years now.
The Rainbow Cremes collection is described as “an artist palette of 10 colors inspired by the rainbow (plus a few extras!) to cover all your basic stamping needs.” And she isn’t messing around!
From L to R: Rojo, Anaranjado, Amarillo, Azul, Verde, Violeta, Marrón, Gris, Turquesa, Rosa
In addition to the 10 creme polishes, there is the Day & Night Duo, which consists of a black and a white stamping polish.
L-R: Dia (White) and Noche (Black)
As you can see, the names are all the Spanish words for the colours. Let’s get into the swatches shall we?
Rojo is a vivid cherry red. It was easy to work with and stamped easily over black. You can see how vibrant it is over white as well!!
Anaranjado is a bright beautiful orange. Anyone that knows me knows that I am forever on the search for an orange creme polish that will stamp over black. I mean for years I’ve been looking!!! And wow look at Anaranjado! It’s truly stunning!! I can’t wait to see all of the amazing Halloween manis I will be creating this year!! Orange is definitely one of my favourite colours to wear (year-round). I will be needing a few backups of this one!
Amarillo is a warm sunny yellow. I’m not normally a fan of yellow polishes, but I think this may very well be the happiest polish I have ever seen. It truly does look like sunshine in a bottle!!
Azul is a super vibrant cobalt blue. When I put this on my nail I was immediately reminded of OG Sally Hansen Pacific Blue. It’s intense and very opaque. I chose this pattern to stamp with because it reminded me of the famous Delft Blue Dutch China.
I added some accents with Anaranjado because the two just seemed to go together!
Verde is a very opaque medium green. Green is another colour that sometimes loses its vibrancy and opacity when you stamp with. Definitely not the case here.
Violeta is a bright purple. Super opaque and very vibrant even over a dark base.
Marrón is a gorgeous chocolate brown – and it really does look like chocolate!!! Intensely opaque.
Oh look I added a Pusheen the cat using Gris and Noche!
Gris is a medium gray. I love how soft this polish reads, yet it doesn’t sacrifice any of its opacity to do so. Beautiful.
Turquesa is a bright teal/aqua. What can I say besides WOW!!!!! This one absolutely glows.
Rosa (Berry Pink)
As the name suggests, Rosa is as a berry pink. This is a great staple in your stamping polish arsenal. I love how this isn’t just your everyday pink – it definitely has lovely depth to it!
And then I took the concept behind The Rainbow Cremes Collection (that it’s an artists’ palette) and ran with it, creating some additional looks below:
I love how this looks sort of like a watercolor!! I used Rojo, Verde, and Anaranjado:
Then I added a matte top coat:
I created a stamped gradient with Turquesa, Amarillo, and Rosa, and inadvertently created a few other colours through the blending process (which was the creator’s intent!)!!
And with matte top coat:
Gorgeous fall leaves using Marrón, Rojo, Amarillo, and Anaranjado:
Clearly I had a lot of fun with these polishes!
Day and Night Duo
Rounding out this fabulous collection is the Day and Night Duo. These are white (Dia) and black (Noche) stamping polishes, a staple in any stamping fan’s collection.
Black and white are my most-used stamping polishes – these were very opaque and it was easy to stamp even fine-line images!
This is a fabulous collection of creme stamping polishes! With these two collections you pretty much have your needs covered. They are all highly opaque, and I personally didn’t experience any staining with them. I used a variety of stampers when using them (Creative Shop, Bornprettystore clear silicone stamper, Pueen round stamper) on a variety of plates, and was successful with all of them. The polishes do dry quickly, especially when using plates with a lot of fine details on them, but nothing that would cause a problem when stamping. All polishes removed easily with non-acetone remover.

It’s the last day of 2016 (where did the year go???) and while it’s been a busy one, it’s been a very fulfilling one as well. I’ve been blessed with a happy family, and that includes my nail family! You all keep me going and inspire me to do what I love – which is painting my nails!
Here is what I’m sporting on my nails today – I used Wet’n’Wild Yo Soy and Sinful Colors Black on Black and stamped with Bundlemonster plate BM-S211.
I tried to get fancy with some nail gems from Amazon but I think I overdid it and should have stopped at one. 😬 I love the black and nude look!
Here are last year’s nails just for funsies:
And I did the Instagram #2016bestnine – I had over 41.5 thousand likes in 2016 alone! So thank you all so much! There were my top 9 most liked pictures.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year’s Eve, and all the best in 2017. I look forward to spending another year with you all!!
My last ever post is up over at CGH Lifestyle! It’s been such a great experience for me these last 12 months. I will really miss it!!! But fear not, click the picture below to be taken away to a snowy winter wonderland….one last time!!!! ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Halloween (and Autumn in general) is my favourite time of the year. It’s also the time for my favourite kind of nail polishes – HALLOWEEN POLISHES!!!! Make no mistake, these polishes are not limited to wear strictly during the haunting season. I indulge in these awesomely spooky polishes year round. From the innovative glitter/base combos to the imaginative (and often punny) Halloween or Autumnal names, these polishes will put you in the mood for pumpkin spice lattes and jack-o-lantern carving in no time!!!
