Hey my fellow Halloween aficionados!!!! I have a new post up over at CuteGirlsHairstyles and since it’s nearly October, it’s a post loaded with cute Halloween nail art!!! So head on over to check it out, and dress up your nails this haunting season!!!
So I do tend to prefer their rectangular plate however I was immediately drawn to this adorable lace umbrella! I thought it was a very unique way to present the pattern. I also think the scalloping along the bottle is great – you could do half-moon lace nails or even French Tips.
The plate is lightweight but sturdy, and the edges are nice and smooth. It comes with a blue film to protect the front (remove before first use), and a cardboard sleeve for storage.
I tested it out with this stamping polish in Fresh Pink:
It’s a lovely bright pastel pink. It’s 18 ml which is large for any polish! The bottle is nice and square which makes it very stable for when you’re stamping and have to work quickly – things can get tippy! This is my favourite shape of any stamping polish I’ve ever used. I wondered how it would do with the very fine lines of the detailed lace pattern from the plate above:
Swoon!!! I love how this turned out!!! I was super impressed with both the etching of the plate and the opacity of the stamping polish. They were a great combo together!
After this I will definitely be looking into more round Bornprettystore plates. This one was $1.99 USD at the time of this blog post. They have free worldwide shipping! And if you so desire, code JDGK31 will give you 10% off all non-sale items at checkout!!!
Until next time, happy painting!!!!
Hello friends! Today on the blog I have some goodies from http://www.bornprettystore.com.
First up is this gorgeous duochrome polish. This has a purple/pink/gold/bronze shift to it and the shift is very strong. It said to use it over a black base so that’s what I did. All swatch photos are one coat over Sinful Colors Black on Black.
Application was easy, great formula and no flooding or streaking. It self-levelled perfectly. And I wore it for 3 days (which is long for me) with zero chips or tip wear (although this can depend on body chemistry).
This is a rectangular Watermarble plate. It’s approximately 12 x 6 cms and is packed full of a bunch of different Watermarble images!!!! Fantastic for those of us who can’t Watermarble very well. It comes with a blue protective film you need to remove before use, and a cardboard protective sleeve to keep it safe.
Bornprettystore.com ships free worldwide and you can use my code JDGK31 at checkout for 10% off any regular-priced items!

Hello everyone!!! Today I have a review of some absolutely beautiful polishes from Australian Indie polish maker Lilypad Lacquer. Lilypad Lacquer is a new-to-me brand that is both 5-free and cruelty-free.
I was sent 3 polishes to try – all swatches are two coats plus top coat, and were photographed in natural light. And because I can’t resist, I did some nail art with each one!!!
First up is Spellbound.
Spellbound is gorgeous multi-chrome, multi-colour flakies and a silver shimmer all packed into a mint jelly base. It reminds me of Halloween, especially with a name like that!!! Spellbound was opaque for me in two easy coats, but you may need 3 depending on your application.
I wanted to see how it looked layered over a black base. This is one coat:
And with some stamping!
Next we have Cashmere Coat, and let me tell you the name is spot on!
This polish is a beautiful nude holo packed with multi-coloured flecks and shimmer, and it’s just lush on the nail.
And some fall stamping:
Last but not least, we have Sweet Viola.
This is a violet polish that shifts to a blue/green/gold. The first coat was sheer but surprisingly it built up for me in only two coats! I do think if you had longer nails with more visible free edge you may need a third coat to prevent any visible nail line.
How rich is this polish?? This is a great example of a polish that just glows from within.
The formula on all three of these polishes was just stellar. Easy to use, didn’t run or pool down the side of the nail, no streaks or patches. Removal of all three was easy too although I did have to work a teensy bit more at Spellbound just because it’s so packed with all that gorgeousness!!
And as always, feel free to visit me at @thedotcouture for all things nail! Until next time, happy painting!!!
Disclosure: All polishes were sent to me free of charge for my honest review.
