Hi everyone! Pam from Girly Bits Cosmetics sent me the July 2017 Colour of the Month Duo to review and let me tell you, these are AH-MAZING!
The Colour of the Month Duo are two limited edition polishes you can buy either individually or together (at a discounted price). When these were sent to me they didn’t even have names yet. Every month Pam runs a naming contest in her Facebook fan group Girly Bits Lovers – you can submit a name suggestion and if chosen, you will win a bottle of the polish! If you aren’t a member yet you should definitely go check it out! When I opened the package I IMMEDIATELY thought ocean/beach/mermaid. And looks like a lot of other people did as well as their names are definitely in line with that!
All swatches are two coats with one coat of Girly Bits What a Rush quick-dry top coat.
Mermaid of Honour
Mermaid of Honour is a bright aqua with heavy pink/purple shifting shimmer, scattered holo and holo micro glitter.
The above shot is under daylight bulbs, and let me tell you. RUN. Don’t walk. RUN and get this shade!!!!
I decided I needed to see it outside in direct sunlight!
That holo though!!!! Gorgeous! Formula was super easy.
Sand of a Beach
Sand of a Beach is a champagne/light gold holo and glitter mix, in a semi sheer base. I was able to get this opaque no problems in two coats, although you may need three depending on your application. It also makes a gorgeous topper over your fave polish (especially darker jewel-tones!)
First up are indoor shots under daylight bulbs:
It is definitely reminiscent of beautiful beachy sand – with a gorgeous holographic flair mixed in!
Let’s see it in direct sunlight shall we?
Super stunning! Like Mermaid of Honour the formula was typical Girly Bits perfection!
The July Colour of the Month Duo is available from July 1st to July 10th. Buying them together as the early bird duo will save you $1 dollar off the purchase price of each bottle! After the 10th, you will have until the end of July to purchase them individually at their full price. These polishes go so well together I can’t imagine not having the pair.

And time for the bonus nail art – I used Creative Shop plate 52 and Moonflower Poish Noche to create this ocean-esque mani! Totally in love!
Until next time, Happy Painting!
