Once in a while a collection comes along that gives you pause and makes you go Oh My Goodness!!!! It doesn’t happen often that an ENTIRE collection does that….ladies and gentlemen….this is that collection. The first half of the Girly Bits Fall 2017 collection consists of 5 luscious cremes that are….wait for it…..opaque in ONE coat!!! So….you know what this means right? They stamp too!!! Take a peek below for creme gorgeousness!
This collection is a beautifully-cohesive set of creme polishes and I don’t know how…but they GLOW! With indie polishes I personally am generally drawn to their glitter crellies, holos, flakies, etc. because indie polish makers are so innovative in these areas. But I have to say I realize I’ve been neglecting the cornerstone of polish all these years, and as this collection proves, indies do it better!
All swatches are two coats plus Girly Bits What a Rush Quick-Dry Top Coat. That being said, each and every one of these was completely opaque in one coat, with zero visible nail line. I just started with two because I didn’t know if the entire collection would be one-coat worthy and I like to be consistent. But they are definitely one-coat cremes.
Sea You Next Fall
Sea You Next Fall is a teal leaning ocean blue creme. This one stopped me in my tracks when I saw it in the bottle. The formula of this was just too dreamy. There is just something about this tone of blue that fits right in with fall despite it not being the quintessential red/orange/brown/yellow colours we generally associate with fall.
It’s Near Leaf All
It’s Near Leaf All is a leaf green creme with yellow undertones. My friend took one look at it on my nails and immediately said “avocado!” Easy formula, self-levelled nicely!
Butternut Leave Me
Butternut Leave Me is a mustard creme with orange undertones. This is totally an ugly-pretty colour! I’m not a yellow fan usually however that drop of orange in there works so well. It fits perfectly with the rest of the collection. Also it’s a yellow, and a one-coater. I didn’t even know that was possible!
Walnuts About You
Walnuts About You is a mid-tone mink brown creme. This is one of those incredibly chic-looking polishes that you can wear anywhere. Super easy formula!
Stump Up The Jam
Stump Up The Jam is a deep espresso brown creme. This is black coffee on your nails. And look at that shine! Yes there is top coat on there but this polish glows. How does a dark polish like this glow? Amazing!
As you can see, these 5-free cremes are very opaque and shiny. As mentioned, formulas for all were amazing! They are available now for $15 CDN each. And the release date for Part Two is October 20th – so stay tuned! I can’t wait to see the other half of this collection. How do you feel about indie cremes? Any of these your cup of tea? If I had to pick a favourite it would be Sea You Next Fall!
And for fun, some nail art using Sea You Next Fall, Butternut Leave Me, and Walnuts About You!
